SCHOLARSHIP UPDATE-OCTOBER, 2017

This year the Scholarship Committee changed the name and eligibility of the
Scholarship Tournament to increase participation. Instead of a co-ed tournament,
it is now open to all, with all woman, all men, and co-ed categories.
The change increased participation by over 20 people. Donations also increased with silent auction items which were donated by area courses. The tournament at Falmouth Country Club raised approximately $2500. Next year, the Scholarship Tournament will be held on Sunday, October 3rd at Val Halla.
Each of the scholarship winners was awarded $1000 which is sent directly to their colleges and used for school expenses.
This year scholarship criteria was changed to need based.
The number and amount of scholarships awarded are determined by the number of applicants and the amount of money raised each year.
The committee would like to thank all those who donated to the 50/50 and to those who donated their winnings to the scholarship fund.
We would also like to thank the Woodlands ladies who donated $385.00 and the Portland Country Club women who donated $300.00. Individuals in other clubs have also donated money.
Contributions for the Scholarship Fund are accepted anytime throughout the year.
We are off to a good start for the 2017 scholarships.

Congratulations to our 2017 Scholarship Recipients
