Golf Volunteer Opportunity
The summer program of Maine Handicapped Skiing (MHS) is looking for volunteers to help with their adaptive golf program for people of all ages with physical disabilities.
The golf sessions are held on Mondays at Toddy Brook Golf Course from 9 a.m. to noon every Monday through Aug. 31 (except July 27), two Thursdays at Martindale Country Club – July 2 and Aug. 27 -- and two Wednesdays at Bethel Inn and Country Club, July 15 and Aug. 12.
Some knowledge of the golf game is required. However, a golf pro will lead the sessions and tell you what you need to do to help the students. You don’t have to commit to every date.
To volunteer you need to fill out the forms on the MHS web site, skimhs.org. If you have any questions, contact Judy Sullivan, MHS Program Director, at email, 824-2440 or Terri Messer, SMWGA member at tmesser@aol.com, 781-2041.

Rating Committee
Rating Committee Included in the variety of tasks SMWGA performs during the year, one of the most important is Course Rating. Headed by Jan Ronan a number of faithful women, plus Jim Layne, frequently come together to help rate a course. There is equipment for measuring and a USGA rating book to aid in performing the job correctly. Most important of all is that Rating is fun to do. Jan is looking for new SMWGA members to come forward. Ratings are usually done on Mondays with the reward of playing the course for free afterwards. Please email Jan if you are interested or want more information.
